Vioxx is a NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory) drug treating pain associated with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis. The FDA has pulled this drug from the market as of September 30, 2004 due to side effects including heart attack and stroke.

Taking Vioxx can cause an increase in the risk of stroke, heart attack, blood clots, liver damage, gastrointestinal bleeding, heartburn, nausea, diarrhea, upper respiratory tract infections, and high blood pressure.
