Zyprexa is an anti-psychotic medication used in treating schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder, bi-polar mania and bi-polar depression. The FDA has issued warnings relating to the side effects including an increase in diabetes and hyperglycemia.
Zyprexa can cause abnormalities in glucose, which can lead to being at risk for diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, hyperosmolar coma, hyperglycemia, white blood cell disorders and neuroleptic malignant syndrome.
